Being passionate about a certain product or a certain service is the essence of the salesperson and they are able to transmit that feeling to the customer.
Whatever your are here to buy a new bike or just looking to buy a descent jersey for that grand fondo happening next week, this feeling is what keep you visit a LBS. The bicycle world is really complex since the last 30 years or so made the bicycle evolve to a point that we can't really reconise it anymore. There is now more than one category of road bike, mountain bike, city bike etc. The point is, you will need hint and tips from your LBS to keep you running in this sport and the services that they offer will never came from that online bicycle part discount website. It will come from the guy at your LBS that previously sell you the part or the accessory that you now have trouble to figure how to use it.
